Land Use Management
Module description
Competing demands for different land uses (agriculture, grazing, forestry, protection of biodiversity, tourism and urban development) cause conflicts and a need for balancing between the interests of various user groups. The course presents an overview of the theory of land use planning. Important aspects include among others: participation, land tenure, and the integration between different sectors and levels of governance. These insights are applied in a team-work on a simulated case study.
