Congratulation on your acceptance at HNEE. Starting this new adventure abroad is exciting but can also be overwhelming especially when dealing with German bureaucracy and language barriers.

Don’t worry! That’s where the Welcome Team can help you.

The Welcome Team is a group of established HNEE students, who support (full time and exchange) international students joining our university. Our main focus is to help you navigate through your first semester with administrative tasks such as registering at the city hall, opening a bank account, etc... If you need help with translations during visits to the immigration office in later terms, the team will also be there to help. The goal is to empower you to take care of all important matters independently after your first semester.

Newly arriving international students receive a welcome e-mail from the Welcome Team a couple of weeks after their admission. In this e-mail, the procedure for enrolment to the Welcome Program is explained. If you register, you’ll be paired with a Welcome Teamer and will become your first point of contact for assistance.

The Welcome Team also organizes events such as Introduction events, Intercultural dinners and so on. Giving you the chance to meet and connect with other (international) students at HNEE.
