Ukrainian-German Teaching Network for a Digital Transformation of Environmental Education (Consolidation and Expansion Phase 2025)
01/2025 - 12/2025
Competence field:Education for sustainable development
Cooperation:Practical partnership
Department:Forschungseinrichtung
Funding partner:State funding, Foundation funding
Building on the 2022-2024 collaboration, Ukrainian and German HEIs, with the DAAD support, the follow-up project aims to continue consolidation and expansion of the Ukrainian-German Teaching Network, promoting professionalisation of digital teaching and learning at UKR HEIs.
The 2025 follow-up project is designed to further strengthen and expand collaboration between Ukrainian and German universities, building on the progress made and the outcomes achieved in previous years. Central to this project is the enhancement of the Ukrainian German Digital Teaching Network (DTN), which acts as an umbrella, uniting both existing and newly joined partners.
As the Network expands to include up to 19 partners, encompassing both academic and non-academic organizations, the project significantly broadens its reach and fosters an interdisciplinary and inter-organisational connection. By integrating diverse perspectives and expertise, the project reinforces long-term partnerships between German and Ukrainian universities, creating a sustainable foundation for ongoing academic and professional synergy.
In the long term, the follow-up project aims to continue shaping and enriching an academic environment where learners and educators can access resources and opportunities that align with their academic goals and professional growth, transcending the traditional boundaries of study programmes and professional fields. This reinforced collaboration positions the Network as a model for enduring and constantly growing international cooperation in higher education.
A notable feature of the 2025 project is the strengthening of ties with local Ukrainian non-academic organizations—NGO “Progresylni” and NGO “Civil Society Development Forum”. These partnerships aim to enrich the educational experience, broaden the project's impact and reach a wider audience.
As a key German partner, HNEE significantly contributes to the project's success by providing extensive technical, infrastructural and human resource support at no cost. This includes the active engagement of HNEE lecturers in reviewing the content and methodology of e-courses. The DILeLa team from HNEE brings expertise in digital didactics and teaching methods, enhancing the project's educational framework. Additionally, the HNEE IT Department provides technical management of the MOODLE platform, ensuring a seamless learning experience for all participants.
