EXIST funding

With the EXIST funding programmes, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action promotes innovative start-ups from universities and non-university research institutions.

The EXIST Business Start-Up Grant supports innovative technology-orientated start-up projects or knowledge-based services if they are based on scientific findings. EXIST Business Start-Up Grants can only be applied for by universities, not directly by the founders. If you have successfully applied for an → EXIST Business Start-Up Grant, you will receive a grant of up to EUR 3,000 per month per team member for one year. With EXIST-Women, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action supports women at their universities who are interested in starting a business and have an affinity for entrepreneurship in order to familiarise themselves with the topics of start-ups and self-employment at an early stage. During the period from 1 January to 31 December 2024, events, advice and support services specially tailored to women as well as a 3-month scholarship will be funded.
