The Vietnam National University of Forestry has just celebrated its 60th anniversary. This was not only a special occasion for our Vice President Research and Technology Transfer, Prof Dr Alexander Pfriem, to congratulate them as a representative of HNEE, but also an opportunity to renew the Memorandum of Understanding with the President, Prof Dr Pham Van Dien, of the Vietnam National University of Forestry.

In addition to a large festive event with 2,000 guests and a speech by the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, an international conference on "Carbon benefits linked to Sustainable Forest Management" was also held. In his keynote speech, Prof Dr Pfriem spoke about the potential carbon sequestration in durable wood products and their long-term use in the context of life-cycle management. To summarise briefly: A nice event, a deepening of the relationships between our universities and at the same time an opportunity for a professional exchange!
