ZENAT

The Centre for Sustainable Tourism (Zentrum für Nachhaltigen Tourismus – ZENAT) is a working group of tourism professors and experts at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development.

It carries out research and development projects that are financed with external funds. A current example is designing a national indicator system to measure the sustainability of tourism in Germany.

In addition, the work of ZENAT includes the further training and qualification measures for practitioners on various topics around sustainable tourism.

You can find further examples of projects here.

In addition to the ZENAT, the topic of sustainable tourism also plays a role in the biosphere.centre:

Biosphere Center

The biosphere.centre is a cooperation between the Michael Succow Foundation, the Nationale Naturlandschaften e. V. and the Eberswalde University of Applied Sciences on the subject of UNESCO biosphere reserves.

The biosphere.center creates a broad basis of knowledge and experience, and provides the foundation of innovative strategies to promote and develop biosphere reserves. Sustainable tourism is a key part of this.
