Information on Official Certifications

Applicants admitted to programmes who wish to enrol at EUSD must submit all necessary certificates in officially certified form.

In Germany, any public institution carrying a seal of approval may officially certify. These are, for example, municipal administrations, rural districts and lower administrative authorities (e.g. local mayors and local chiefs, municipal administrations, citizens' offices, town halls, district administrations); also courts or notaries. The cultural department of the embassy of the country from which the certificate originates can also carry out an official certification. Notarisations from welfare associations, interpreters, health insurance companies, banks, savings banks, associations, the AStA, the DAAD, etc. are not accepted. Outside Germany, the following authorities are authorised to issue official notarisations: the diplomatic representations of the Federal Republic of Germany and the authorities and notaries authorised to issue official notarisations in the respective country. The official certification must contain at least:

1. a note certifying that the copy/copy corresponds to the original (certification note),

2. the original signature of the certifying party and

3. the original imprint of the official seal. An official seal usually contains an emblem. A simple written stamp is not sufficient.

If a copy consists of several individual sheets, it must be proved that each page originates from the same document. It is sufficient for only one page to be endorsed and signed, provided that all the sheets are stacked, stapled and sealed in such a way that a part of the imprint of the official seal appears on each page.

In the case of notarised certification (with cord and seal mark), the certification mark on only one side of the copy or copy is sufficient.
