Biosphere Reserves Institute
The Biosphere Reserves Institute (BRI) is a scientific institute at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE). It is made up of the following three departments: Forest and Environment, Landscape Management and Nature Conservation, and Sustainable Business. BRI is implementing the Innovation and Career Center’s (IKC) "Process Design for the Implementation of Biodiversity-preserving Land Use - Focus on Biosphere Reserves (ProBio-LaB)", which was approved and financed by the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture (MWFK) of the State of Brandenburg in April 2019. This was done with the aim of establishing biosphere reserves as a research focus at the HNE Eberswalde. However, the founding of the institute is independent of this funding and its work is set for the long term.
