Applied research
In the field of sustainable tourism, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development has two research centres:
ZENAT
The Centre for Sustainable Tourism (Zentrum für Nachhaltigen Tourismus – ZENAT) is a working group of tourism professors and experts at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development.
It carries out research and development projects that are financed with external funds. A current example is designing a national indicator system to measure the sustainability of tourism in Germany.
In addition, the work of ZENAT includes the further training and qualification measures for practitioners on various topics around sustainable tourism.
You can find further examples of projects here.
Biosphere Center
The international biosphere.center is a cooperation between Michael Succow Foundation, EUROPARC Deutschland e.V. (the association of European national parks, biosphere reserves and nature parks) and the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development.
The biosphere.center creates a broad basis of knowledge and experience, and provides the foundation of innovative strategies to promote and develop biosphere reserves. Sustainable tourism is of great importance in this regard.
