Internationalisation strategy of the HNEE

DAAD

The project "HNEE Internationalisation 2.0" aims to support the development of a new internationalisation strategy at the University for Sustainable Development and to improve the institutional structural framework with regard to internationalisation. The project enables the HNEE to intensify contacts and relationships with partner universities in Canada and South Africa in an exemplary manner. The project will run until December 2023.

Thus, the project consists of two components:

1) the update of the internationalisation strategy:

Adoption of the Internationalization Strategy at HNE

The team "HNEE Internationalization 2.0" (Peter Spathelf, Manuela Pelz, Vera Clauder, and Viola Debus) is pleased to announce the successful adoption of their Internationalization Strategy by the Senate. This milestone marks the end of a two-year, participatory process to which all university members were invited. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the entire university community for their dedicated support and collaboration during this significant project. The development of this strategy was characterized by an inclusive approach that incorporated the diversity of perspectives and experiences of all members of the HNEE community. Through workshops, discussions, and continuous feedback, a dynamic vision for the future internationalization of our university was developed.

The adopted strategy represents a turning point and will serve as a guide for the years to come. It forms the foundation for broader networking, international partnerships, and a stronger positioning of HNEE on the global stage. Our team is thrilled about the acceptance and support that this strategy has received. Together, we look forward to the future with optimism, confident that the implementation of this internationalization strategy will have a sustainable impact on the development and profile of our university. Once again, heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this successful process. We are proud of what has been achieved and look forward to taking the next steps together.

The strategy is currently being translated and formatted, and will be published on the HNEE website in the near future.

2) the establishment of a network in the field of sustainability:

The second component aims to build a network for practical cooperation in the field of sustainability as well as to create long-term transdisciplinary learning opportunities in cooperation with partner universities in Canada (University of Saskatchewan, Vancouver Island University), South Africa (Rhodes University and University of the Witwatersrand) and Germany (Leuphana University Lüneburg).
