ZIM- Cooperation- project BioBasedBoats - Boats made of bio-based materials: Development of new composite materials and manufacturing techniques to increase efficiency in bio-based boat and yacht construction

    Â© HNEE Bio-based-Boats

Market conditions are changing and boats made from environmentally friendly materials are in greater demand. To meet this demand, we must make the construction of boats from wood and other bio-based materials competitive with the construction of boats from fossil-based materials. We can achieve this by using new materials or combinations of materials and by using more efficient production methods.

The aim of the project is therefore to develop new bio-based composite materials and process technologies for bio-based boat construction. This will enable a more efficient production of biobased boats and yachts. Thus, through the new production methods, biobased boats can be series produced in a more cost-, time- and material-efficient way and thus be offered to a larger customer base.
