HoFuPreg - Subproject 2
Joint project (FSP adhesives): Wood veneer prepregs with proportionally bio-based binder
Subproject 2: Development of multilayer material composites - Acronym: HoFuPreg
In order to expand the range of uses for wood as a natural material, especially in the form of veneer layers in technical applications, the aim of the joint project was to develop new types of high-strength wood-veneer-based prepregs. The objective of the project was, on the one hand, to develop suitable formulations of resin systems and the necessary impregnation technology.
On the other hand, the functional adaptation of thin wood layers as storage-stable and application-oriented prepreg with multi-functionality under consideration of design aspects was another objective. Wood veneer prepregs were produced from wood veneers with a matrix of (pre-crosslinked) reactive resins.
